Driggs
is a small city in Teton County in southeastern Idaho. It is part of the Jackson, Wyoming micropolitan area and has a population of approximately 1,300 residents. National Geographic magazine listed Driggs as "one of the ten best outdoor recreation destinations in the United States," calling it "friendly and unpretentious." Driggs also continues to top the lists of one of the best places to live in the country. With a laid-back atmosphere, its one of the communities of the Teton Valley, known as "the quiet side of the Tetons." Driggs is a rustic mountain town with incredible scenery and an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities year-round. Winter activities include alpine skiing snowboarding, snowmobiling and ice fishing. In summer, theres fly fishing, rafting, camping, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, golf and tennis. The jagged, snow-capped Tetons lie to the east and the rolling Big Hole Mountains to the west. Lovely old farmsteads are scattered across the valley floor. Lodging in the area can be found in hotels, motels, rustic cabins and cottages or RV parks. Driggs offers art galleries, cafes, pubs and grills, a historic soda fountain, an authentic Austrian bakery and other shopping and businesses. A Farmers Market and Open Air Market is held in the summer months each Friday, and the Teton Valley Summer Festival is celebrated each July. Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park are only a short drive from Driggs.

Southeastern Idaho has a unique four-season climate. The area's precipitation is approximately 20-30 inches, which is among the highest in southern Idaho. This unusually high precipitation is due to the unique geography of southern Idaho and Yellowstone. The Snake River Plain was formed by the Yellowstone hot spot across southern Idaho, and it forms a moisture channel that extends from the Pacific Ocean to Yellowstone area. This southeastern corner at the head of the Snake River Plain and at the end of the Yellowstone moisture channel gets as much snow as the typical ski towns of Colorado. In contrast, summers are hot and humidity is low throughout the state. Occasionally, moisture-laden air from the south produces thunderstorms.
