Victor
is one of the towns located in Teton Valley on the west slope of the Teton Mountain Range in southeast Idaho. As of the 2000 census, the population of Victor was 840 residents. This spectacularly beautiful area is known as the quiet side of the Tetons, although it is considered part of the Jackson Hole, Wyoming micropolitan area. Victor is home to a small, luxury hotel & spa, which opened in December 2007. The resort offers 52 guest rooms and suites in the main lodge, and beautiful three, four and five bedroom cabins on the golf course. With its location in the Teton Valley, Victor offers an abundance of outdoor recreational possibilities. Some of the regions best single-track mountain bike trails are located here, and the mountains provide the ideal backdrop for hiking, horseback riding, golf, whitewater rafting, camping and fly-fishing. On the Fourth of July, people from all over the country come to Teton Valley to participate in the annual four-day Summer Festival. This festival includes a hot air balloon rally, old time fiddlers contest, craft fair, antiques show, rodeo, parade, community breakfast and barbecue, and fireworks. In the wintertime, the mountains surrounding Victor offer Alpine or Nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and back-country skiing.

Southeastern Idaho has a unique four-season climate. The area's precipitation is approximately 20-30 inches, which is among the highest in southern Idaho. This unusually high precipitation is due to the unique geography of southern Idaho and Yellowstone. The Snake River Plain was formed by the Yellowstone hot spot across southern Idaho, and it forms a moisture channel that extends from the Pacific Ocean to Yellowstone area. This southeastern corner at the head of the Snake River Plain and at the end of the Yellowstone moisture channel gets as much snow as the typical ski towns of Colorado. In contrast, summers are hot and humidity is low throughout the state. Occasionally, moisture-laden air from the south produces thunderstorms.
